The only difference is the type of employer you can work for. The skills needed to be a CNA or GNA are the same. You can apply for your CNA license, once you complete the program. You are eligible for a GNA license, once you have applied for a CNA license and have completed an additional state board exam.

Your license and/or licenses can be renewed online at www.mbon.org. It costs $40.00 to renew your license and/or licenses. The cost covers the CNA and GNA license renewal. If you only have your CNA, it will still cost $40.00.

No, our program meets the Maryland Board of Nursing regulations. Once you completed our program, you applied for your license with the Maryland Board of Nursing. This means your license is valid only in Maryland. Each state has their own Board of Nursing.

The tuition is $1,800 which includes tuition, supplies, clinical fees, lab fees, graduation, unlimited skills reviews that prepare you for the GNA exam, and lifetime job assistance.

There are fees are not covered in the tuition of $1,800.

Some students may already have CPR. You may be able to get your drug screen and PPD free through your health insurance. Check with your health insurance.

These fees are not given by It Works Learning Center. These fees are required through the Maryland Board of Nursing to get your CNA and/or GNA license.

It Works is not a Title IV school, therefore we do not offer federal financial aid. We do not have a FAFSA Federal School Code and we do not qualify for Pell Grants. Even if you previously qualified for financial aid with another school, you can not use it to pay It Works' tuition and fees.

We offer a CNA/GNA program every month that doesn’t require a HS Diploma or GED. However, some of our grant CNA/GNA programs have different requirements depending on the grant.

Drug, PPD, and CPR is required to go to clinicals. Clinicals is the hands-on training portion of the CNA/GNA curriculum.

If you pay your tuition, then you do not need to meet grant requirements. If you are seeking a grant to pay your tuition, then you must meet their qualifications and be selected. Some grants require a clean criminal background. Other grants must use their funds for residents of particular areas. There are also grants that require a HS Diploma or GED.
